These rules have been put in place in order to achieve fairness for players, match writers, myself, and future members. These rules are to be followed and will be reviewed by myself in any instance where there may be an issue. Additional rules can be added at any time, however, I will tell the members about these changes.
All potential members of PWA must read these rules before posting a sample roleplay. Posting a sample roleplay means you accept these rules as they currently are. For all members, failure to meet these rules may result in a suspension or your removal from the fed.
I, as the fed head, will implement these rules in all situations. From here on out there will be no exceptions to these rules. If you cannot follow them, go elsewhere. Any questions, contact me through a Personal Message or an Instant Message.
Roleplay Rules are as followed:
1.] Singles Matches: 2 roleplays per handler.
2.] Tag Team Matches: 1 roleplay per handler
2 roleplays for single handler teams
3.] Mix Tag Team Matches: 2 or 3+ handlers on one team. Each roleplay will be judged on their own merit. Roleplay scores will be combined for each team. Team with the higher combined score wins. Highest scored roleplayer for the winning team will get the pinfall/submission. Lowest score roleplayer for the losing team will submit or be pinned. We roleplay to win, not get victories by pecking order.
4.] No Sandbagging: Two roleplays will not be allowed to be posted within 36 hours before the deadline. New cards will go out Sunday night or Monday morning. This will allow 4 days to post at least one roleplay. If you cannot post one roleplay in a four day period, go to a different fed.
If you are caught purposely sandbagging in an attempt to gain a competitive edge, you will be warned. The second time it happens you'll be kicked out of the fed. I want to stress this right now, waiting around to see what your opponent will post will not give you a competitive edge with the way I judge things. Some of the best roleplay battles go back and forth over a week's span. Whoever gives the best and most creative effort will most likey win the match. Responding to your opponent's trash talk is only a part of the game in this fed.
If an instance were to occur and you could not roleplay once in the 4 day time frame, ONLY your opponent can okay the posting of two roleplays within 36 hours before the deadline. They MUST send me a personal message allowing this to happen. I will not accept a PM from you saying they okayed it.
Your opponent is NOT obligated to accept your excuse. They are not an asshole for rejecting your excuse. It is not assumed you are making the excuse up but we need to draw a line somewhere. Now it’s drawn. If you lose under circumstances beyond your control, take the loss and move on.
5.] Angled Outcomes: This is a roleplay fed. Matches will not be determined by angles unless those involved all agree. If you want a certain outcome, PM me and the match writer as soon as possible.
6.] Character Development: CD's will not count towards matches. You can write as many as you want and I still will not count them or weigh in the extra effort for match outcomes.
7.] Roleplay Scores:
Roleplay grading will be based on a 50-point scale in order to give me more flexibility and to keep varying writing styles at the same level. The following marks will be taken into grading of roleplays with a 1-10 points system (10 being the highest, 5 average, 1 poor):
1.] Readability: How easy the roleplay is able to be read. Does it drag on, make any sense, keep me interested, etc.
2.] Match Hype: Does the roleplay add to the match and make people want to know more about it. Trash talk or other means are included here.
3.] Character Development: Each roleplay should be an attempt to further your character's life and/or career. Past history of the character, other characters, thought process, etc.
4.] Story: Is the story your character is involved in inside or outside of the ring interesting and original. Does the roleplay add to this story or lose track of it. Yes, the actual roleplay story will also be taken into account here.
5.] Presentation: Grammer, spelling, spacing, etc. are taken into account here. Doesn't need to be perfect. Usually an easy 10 points most of the time.
TOTAL: 50/50
8.] Length: Feds have always stressed quality over quantity. We do as well. A 1500+ word roleplay could beat a 4000+ word roleplay any day of the week. It comes down to the scoring points system above. You may hit on all of the points in a long roleplay but lose out on readability because the RP could become too long. Keep a good balance if you can. In the end, write how you want to write but don't feel pressured by the length of your opponent's stuff.
9.] Segments: The roleplaying around here is top notch and with some matches it will be hard to determine a winner. Some times it comes down fractions of a point. I don’t want to do that for close matches. I do not want to nitpick roleplays to figure out who wins a close match. For a close match, I want it to come down to who’s put more effort into build up of the match or a certain angle.
Now this rule may be controversial here but I want to give it a shot. I want to promote more things being sent in for the results. That being said, if a match is close and you think it is close, send in a segment. A segment about the match WILL COUNT towards the match outcome.
Segments that are used for build up of angles WILL NOT COUNT towards matches. This is to ensure members without a current angle will not be penalized in a close match-up. The use of backstage interviewers, other wrestlers, staff or through other means to hype a match during the results is encouraged. Only ONE segment will count though so do not flood my PM box with segments that make no sense just so you can win a close match.
This rule will ONLY apply towards matches I find are very close (tie or within 1 point). They will not be used to “even up” a match that has a clearer winner. This way winners are still decided on the Roleplaying Board. This segment does not need to be overly detailed or constructed like a roleplay. It can be simple, to the point, or just simply some trash talk. Whatever you want to do. Be creative and add to the results.
10.] One RP vs. One RP: This is a 2 Roleplay fed. However, in some instances both handlers in a match could agree on a 1 roleplay limit per match. I have not been too strict with this but now it’s becoming common practice rather than a special instance. With that comes this new rule.
ALL handlers that will be involved in a special 1 RP vs 1 RP match MUST send me a personal message by 11 PM Eastern WEDNESDAY NIGHT of the new roleplaying week to let me know about the limit in your match.
This rule has been added to be fair to myself, the match writers, and your opponent. Too often handlers ask for the 1 RP limit because one, they can’t come up with 2 roleplay ideas or two, they want to handicap their opponent. I will not allow this to happen anymore because it penalizes players.
Granted, this change in the limit will still fall up on the choice of the handlers. You guys work it out but I must know by Wednesday night in order to keep things fair. Your opponent is NOT obligated to accept these terms after Wednesday night. They are not an asshole for telling you that’s too bad. But if they don’t agree before Wednesday, they could be an asshole. Either way, I’m not in the asshole business.
Again, I expect a PM from BOTH handlers by Wednesday 11 PM Eastern if a 1 Roleplay limit agreement is reached. If I only get one PM, I will not accept it. Both need to agree and both need to PM.
11.] Respect: I can’t believe I have to add this to the rules but apparently it needs to be done. Respect the members of this fed, please. I judge roleplays and put together results among other things. I am not going to sit here and play kindergarten cop in this fed. People come here to write and chill out to get away from crap in their daily lives. They do not need to come here and read who’s snitching on who, who called who a what, who doesn’t like who, etc. This isn’t a Dr. Seuss book so act your freakin’ age.
Starting OOC Wars on the boards WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. These posts will be locked out and you will be warned once. If I have to warn you again, you’re gone. End of story. No exceptions.
Granted, I cannot tell you how to act online but I’m not going to sit by and watch you ruin morale in the fed. If you don’t like somebody, talk it over with them. Leave everybody else out of it. I’ll bet the ranch nobody else gives a damn if you don’t like somebody so leave it at that. If worse comes to worse, just simply block the person. It isn’t that hard.
